All aboard!

SonShine Express, under the direction of Jancie Croft, is part of the Children's Ministry that meets during worship service at Western Hills Church of Christ. The program currently services children from 4 to 8 years old. It is made possible by many adult and teen volunteers.

In this program, children are introduced to Bible stories and concepts through singing, puppet shows, movie clips, stories, games, and crafts. The children are taught about God's love in order for them to develop a growing relationship with Him.

In addition to meeting on Sunday mornings, the children from SonShine Express have also boarded our life-sized trolley to share the love of Christ with our community in some of our local parades.

In addition to SonShine Express, Western Hills offers two other children's programs during our Sunday Morning worship: Diaper Depot and Junior Junction. Diaper Depot is the children's nursery for little ones from birth to 2 years. The nursery is located right next to Room 101.

In an effort to accommodate the growing number of children and families attending Western Hills, a third children's program was launched in 2011. Junior Junction services young children ages 2-3. In this program, co-director, Stephanie Marcum, leads the children in developmentally appropriate centers including dramatic play, story time, and art. The focus of this class will be to establish a firm foundation for the next generation of Christ's disciples by introducing them to the love of God. We are thrilled to invite our young children to join us on this new adventure as we add another stop on the SonShine Express Railway. You may sign up your children in the south hall in classroom #101 beginning April 3 for the opportunity to sing, play, giggle, and learn.

God is so good! We are blessed to have so many young ones in our Western Hills family. Our growth is directly related to our faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and our commitment to serve Him. We have a great responsibility to teach our children and bring them up in the Lord and we sincerely believe that this program provides an excellent format to do so.

Please join us in this adventure! We are looking for adult volunteers to be put on a rotating schedule. Sign-up sheets are in the foyer. We also need prayer warriors for this new ministry. We want nothing more than to raise these children to love and serve God and we appreciate the support of this congregation.
