Distance Worshipping at Western Hills

UPDATE (11/20/20): Due to the increase in COVID cases in our area, please be aware of our established safety procedures as we work diligently to continue with Bible classes and services at this time. We highly recommend that all members and visitors adhere to the following safety measures while worshipping at Western Hills:

  • Socially distance yourself at least six feet from others that are not from your household.

  • Use the available hand sanitizers as you enter/exit the building.

  • When necessary, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • If you are sick or exhibit symptoms associated with COVID, or if you are just not comfortable being in the building, please stay at home and participate in the online services. Links are posted on this website, as well as on our various social media accounts.

We encourage you to submit your prayer requests and praises through the church offices, or call Harley or one of the elders and we will pray for/with you. Our goal is to remain focused on God together in the safest way possible. Please stay safe and in the Lord Jesus. God bless you all.

This page contains updates and information as we join believers around the world in addressing our congregation's worship needs in the face of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Information is organized chronologically, with the most recent notes, videos and other information from our various worship platforms located at the top of the page. You may scroll down for additional items from previous dates. Church elders have determined that Sunday morning Bible study classes will return with a limited schedule beginning October 2020. We will continue to offer two Sunday morning worship services, at 9 and 11 AM, during this time, in order to maintain opportunity for appropriate social distancing within the church building. Please call the church office at (580) 353-4890 to reserve space for you and your family at either service weekly. Click on the links below for specific information and guidelines regarding the re-opening of morning Bible classes.

The Elders of Western Hills Church of Christ have developed a comprehensive strategy to guide our church as we seek to transition back to more traditional means of fellowship, while adhering to all local, state and federal guidelines for such gatherings. You may review this plan, watch a brief Q & A video regarding re-opening, or complete a Google Doc form to reserve your attendance for an upcoming service by clicking on the links below.

Western Hills Church Family,

God calls us to be strong and courageous in all situations. This is certainly one of those times, in which we as Christians, should shine for the world around us. May we be mindful of those that are working so hard to do their very best to serve our country during this stressful time. May we never forget that God is faithful in all things. As the leaders of Western Hills, your church Elders stand ready to help and serve all of our members in the best way possible. If you are in need of something, please do not hesitate to give us a call. Even if it's a prayer request, we will be glad to pray for you and your family over the phone. Within the next day or two, we will provide more information concerning prayer requests, communion, and your regular financial contributions.

'Father God, may You protect this great nation in which we live. We ask that You give strength and wisdom to the leaders of this nation as they help guide us through this trying time in our history. May we stay faithful to You, as we know You are always faithful to us. In Jesus' name, Amen.'

    Deuteronomy 31:6

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you
    nor forsake you."

We want to assure you that we love each and every one of you. We are praying for you, your family and our nation.

Western Hills Church Family,

In view of the coronavirus threat, the Elders have decided to cancel all services and classes for this Sunday (March 15) and Wednesday (March 18). All LTC practice is cancelled for tomorrow, as well. The Elders will continue to monitor and evaluate this situation in regards to future services. Tomorrow is a National Day of Prayer, so please remember to pray about this pandemic. If you have any prayer concerns, email them or call them in to the church office and they will be prayed over by our Elders. Please take time tomorrow to focus on God and the blessings He has given you.
